We truly believe that racism is a big problem, and one of the most important yet. We as a society used to ignore the problems and it has just become a thing a couple of years ago.
Fortunately, we’ve made such big progress towards greater education in the face of injustice.

We cannot afford to waste this progress, and therefore we must keep going and fighting. It's important that we keep educatee ourselves, and learn from our mistakes in the past. It's a part of making progress to learn from the past. There are so many people whose stories have helped us to get rid of the centuries-old wall which stands in the way of equality.

We think that in our situation movements like Black Lives Matter is important. It started in 2013, after the murder of the innocent Trayvon Martin, and has helped us a lot to get control of our bad situation. After Trayvon Martins's death, people in the black community in the United States became outraged and made the first demonstration in New York. But it wasn’t only the people in the United States who were mad, but also people in the rest of the world. This started many demonstrations and after people started to become aware of what actually was happening, a hashtag called #blacklivesmatter arrived. The hashtag was made by Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi which all wanted people to know. The hashtag was shared on social media and caused global headlines in every country.

Personally, we haven't experienced racism in here in Denmark. However, we are aware that it happens sometimes

 

 When we take a look at Denmark, we have a long tradition of not wanting to talk about racism. A lot of individuals in Denmark are used to ignoring this topic because they are scared and not aware of what's really happening. But in the latest years, more people have started to care about it and do what they can do to prevent it. Even though we here in Denmark are doing just fine we think that it's important to have sympathy with the people who are not.

But to conclude this whole topic we think that we've been doing good lately. People have started to care and we've started to search for solutions to prevent it. It's important that we as a society stand up for each other and help people who need us.
